Lamb Cutlets with Roasted Garlic Pasta

Monday, 12th January 2015
We had some nice lamb cutlets to eat, which I like to grill hot and fast. But I wasn't sure about having them with pasta until I saw this recipe.
I grilled the lamb instead of frying, and wasn't well enough prepared to infuse the oil with rosemary. I also only mixed in a small amount of the garlic and just served the rest separately with the lamb on top of the pasta, since I like it more than Monika. The cutlets were tender and juicy, as expected, and went very well with the oily, slightly cheesy pasta.

Lamb chops

Monday, 20th May 2013
Simply grilled and served with double-fry chips and green beans boiled then quickly fried with a little vinegar and spices. The chops were a little over done. Still having trouble getting that timing exactly right.

Lamb Chops in Cider

Saturday, 23rd February 2013
Easy Meals for One and Two, p36. Brown the chops and some onions, add flour. Blend in a small bottle of cider, then add sliced courgette, apple, sultanas and mint. Season and cook in the oven for 45 minutes.
I put in way too much flour, so the sauce was very "gloopy". Also too many sultanas. And the meat came out dry, possibly because I had the oven too high. All in all not a success.

Grilled Lamb Cutlets

Sunday, 17th February 2013
I grilled myself some lamb-chops a week or so ago and they came out beautifully tender and juicy. The only thing was I had the grill pan so hot the chicken was full of smoke. So for these I lowered the heat a bit, but the extra cooking time meant the came out a little dry and chewy by comparison.
The moral is, crank up the heat and open a window.

Lamb cutlets

Sunday, 15th January 2012
I had a rack of lamb in the freezer that needed eating, but no time or inclination to roast it, so I sliced it up into cutlets, grilled them hot and fast with some rosemary and served with pasta and tomato sauce. The meat was tender, juicy and very flavourful.
